Today was my appointment to fit my aligners with Dr. Morgan . I was pretty clueless of the steps involved for clear aligners, so here's how it works. Before he can just pop in the trays, they had to clean off my teeth and apply 'buttons' to ten of my teeth. These 'buttons' are glued onto my teeth in the exact spot of the void left on the aligner so that they will snap into place, literally. Unlike other clear aligners, SureSmile uses buttons to foster rapid tooth movement. Then we had to create a little space in between my teeth. Another area I hadn't considered in moving your teeth is there has to be space to move them. My top teeth are especially tight together and almost overlapping. Not my favorite part of the process, but necessary none the less. Dr. Morgan very gently filed down a paper thin gap in between my top teeth.
