Father Christmas.

Somehow Father Christmas made his way out to our farm Christmas Eve and delivered not one but three presents to my sweet nephew Liam. He also delivered presents to myself and my siblings because of Mummy's rule that if you 'believed' Father Christmas would come. Of course we always say we still believe, even when we're 24 years old. Princess and I were talking about one of the most frustrating parts of Christmas during our childhood was being forced to have breakfast before we could even see our presents. My parents would close our living room door, just to torture us, and then make us sit for what felt like hours and eat something we were too excited to eat before finally letting us into the room. We were so wound up at that point I'm surprised I didn't wet my pants. I'm glad Liam didn't have to endure that this year. We went straight for the stockings and big presents. He sent a cute letter up the chimney to Father Christmas asking for a Mater bo

A sneak peek of Christmas photos. Full post coming soon. Taken on Canon AE-1 with 35mm film. K

Animals For Days. [Part I]

This is an extremely delayed post, but I wanted to wait until some of the pieces got fired so I could show you the finished results. These high school kids really blew me away with their creativity. All these pieces are made from two pinch pots so they are all completely hollow. The students came up with their own design for the animal and after I taught them how to create a hollow 'egg' shape they added all the features. I also couldn't get enough of all the minions. They were the cutest things. More pictures to follow.   K

The Ice Apocalypse.

Texas was hit with an unusual ice storm recently which left me stuck in my apartment for three days straight. Horrible. I did journey out into the slippery cold to capture a few pictures of the snow, fallen branches, and thick icy roads. The trees were just beautiful with a little dusting on all the branches. White Christmas? Check.     K

A Christmas Carol.

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to experience one of the best plays we've seen as a family to date (and us Hudson's have been to our fair share of English panto's). My coworker planned a field trip for her art kids to see A Christmas Carol at the Dallas theatre and my family and I were able to tag along. Unbeknownst to me, the Dallas theatre is a one of a kind vertical theatre. Meaning, the play is performed on three different floors with an intimate atmosphere and an extremely interactive cast. It was beautifully directed and acted. It was the perfect way to kick off our holiday season here in Texas. ^^Also Liam could not look any more dapper. That boy is a stud. ^^ [The Dallas theatre is performing Les Miserables starting in June 2014. I know I'll be there.] All images shot on my Canon AE-1 with 35mm film. Minimal editing. K
